We build trails. But that's not really what we do.
What we actually do is give families a reason to be outside together.
The Owl & Rain Trail Co. originated from a deep love of the woods — the kind where the light filters through in patches and the ground smells like rain and something is always rustling just out of sight. That's the feeling we're trying to put in your backyard.
The Original Trail
Before we built trails for anyone else, we built one for ourselves — a winding path through our own backyard that eventually stretched to nearly 1/8 of a mile. We learned everything on that trail. What holds up through a Carolina winter. What makes a child stop walking and crouch down to look closer. What makes an adult do the same thing.
That trail is still there. It's where every Owl & Rain installation begins — in spirit, if not in person.
Why Owl & Rain?
The owl is a creature of the woodland — patient, watchful, at home in the kind of quiet that most of us have forgotten how to find. The rain is what makes the the outdoors green and alive and worth being outside in, even when it's inconvenient.
Together they're the two things we love most about the woods at their best. We named the company for them.
